Cedliac Disease is a serious allergy to wheat gluten and causes terrible diahrea for some. There is no cure other than a very strict wheat/gluten free diet. It only takes a simple blood test to find out if you have Celiac Disease. I am a Celiac Disease Sufferer. WOW SauerKraut twice a day along with my Wheat Free / Gluten Free Diet has made all the difference for me!

INFO

Celiac Disease has been very hard on me!

Celiac Disease has been very hard on me for some time now! I am 56 years old now. I believe it started bothering me somewhere between age 45 and 50 years of age and got only worse with time. The Diahrea spells got to be everyday and increased to several times a day. I saw 3 doctors about it and they didn’t know what was causing it. I went thru colonoscopy and several other tests and the doctors had no answers. I finally talked to a friend that said she had the same trouble and had been to eight doctors and they had not been able to solve her problem or tell her what she had. She lucked up and had a health food store lady tell her it sounded like she had Celiac Disease. She looked it up on the internet and found it is a simple blood test to see if you have it. She took the info. to her doctor and got tested for it. Sure enough she had it and immediately started on the “wheat free – gluten free diet” and started improving but soon found out you have to strictly stay on the diet the rest of your life or you go right back to the same problems. Wheat flour is in so many prepared foods that it is almost impossible to “eat out” without it causing you problems. Well anyway, I got the blood test and sure enough I had it too. I have been on the diet for about a year now and believe me it is a very hard diet for me to stick to as I went so many years enjoying breads, cakes cookies, etc. without this problem bothering me. It is so weird how it damages the inside of your small intestines so badly over time! Anyway as long as I stick to the diet I do pretty well. I finally figured out that what works the best for me is to take 2 immodium at one time once a day “like the instructions say” to prevent diahrea spells while I’m trying to work my job. If after 2 or three days I get constipated from the Immodium, then I use Dulcolax Suppositories as it is easier on me than most laxatives and works fast in 15 minutes to one hour. Other things that help me a lot is to eat Sour Crout twice a day which seems to really help support the intestines health to prevent diahrea spells and especially to relieve stomach pains. Another thing that helps me a lot is to drink buttermilk regularly. It helps the intestines a lot too. If you don’t like buttermilk you can take Lactinex Chewable Tablets or Lactinex Powder that you sprinkle on your food or in your favorite drink. Not all pharmacies carry it so you have to ask them. The ones that do keep in in the Refrigerator and you will too if you buy it and use it. It is a concentrate of the good stuff that comes in buttermilk that helps your intestines so much. It even helps heal Cole Sores Faster with a lot less pain. Believe me it is very hard to work a job with the diahrea from Celiac Disease and I wear “pullup depends” for mishaps as well as keep a bag with one and clothes in case of a very bad spell. And I keep immodium with me in case I have to take one but like the instructions say take no more than 4 in 24 hours. The blood test is a basic test to see if you have it. They do an indoscopy to make absolutely sure you have it. Of course there are several other related or similar diseases that have similar symptoms. Some of them are C-DIF, Crohn's, Diverticulitis and IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome. May God bless you all that you find better ways to deal with whatever you may be suffering from!
